2010 RULES AND REGULATIONS

CARS MUST REMAIN STOCK UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.  IF IT IS NOT IN THE RULES, IT DOES NOT MEAN
YOU CAN DO IT.

1.        Derby is open to any hard-tops, wagons, trucks or mini-vans.  NO 4x4’s OR Imperials.  Trucks and mini-
vans ONLY will run together - minimum of (5) five for a heat.  

2.        BODY- All vehicles must be stripped of all glass, chrome, trim, side mirrors, plastic and fiberglass panels.  
Windshields are NOT acceptable.  Rubber body mounts may be removed, but must be replaced with flat washers
(Max 4"), body mount bolt (Max 5/8" diameter).  No hood latches.  No body to frame weld.  
** 2 STEEL BARS MUST BE MOUNTED FROM THE FIRE WALL TO ROOF**.








3.        GAS TANKS- If not under center of car, MUST be moved to the back seat area, securely fastened, and
completely covered.

4.        FRAME- No alterations or reinforcements to frame.  No Imperial sub-frames allowed (NO EXCEPTIONS).  
No patching.  May add one bead of weld to top of frame seam if desired.

5.        TRANSMISSION- Floor shifters are allowed.

6.        BRAKES- All vehicles must have and will be checked for brakes and air cleaner.

7.        BUMPERS- May be welded or chained - whatever it takes to keep them on the vehicle.  No added metal at
all.  Frame rail stock - example:  Chevy to Chevy or Ford to Ford.

8.        REAR ENDS- May be welded.  No coil to leaf-spring alteration.

9.        DOORS- Must be chained, wired, OR welded.  No full welded seams EXCEPT DRIVER DOOR.  All others
must be 3" weld every 10".  No solid rods on plate or metal strapping.

10.        DRIVER COMPARTMENT- One cross bar is allowed behind the seat running door to door.  This is to keep
from caving in - maximum diameter is 3”.  Four point roll bars allowed, not extending to the frame.  Cannot touch
floor panel - must be inside car (not between door skins).

11.        EXHAUST- Should extend beyond driver’s seat or you may run stacks.

12.        FAN BLADES- Must be clutch type with shroud OR electric fan OR no fan at all.

13.        FENDERS & INNER- Cutting, folding, or bending is permitted.

14.        HOOD & TRUNK- All hoods can be bolted down with (4) ½” bolts, wired, OR chained down, and must
have an 18” hole in it.  Trunk lids must be wired, bolted, chained, OR welded 3” for every 10”.  No hood latches.

15.        SUSPENSION- Car should be in the 20” range to center of bumper.  NO MODIFICATION OF SUSPENSION.

16.        BATTERY- May be left under hood or moved to passenger side floor (must be held down by 2 straps and
covered with rubber mat).

17.        ENGINE COMPARTMENT- Distributor protectors must not reinforce any part of car.  Must remain 3" from
dash bar (or bar will be cut out).

18.        TIRES- Max 15" (16" only if factory).   Inner tubes are allowed.  Wheel weights must be removed.

19.        ANTI-FREEZE- NOT allowed - only clear water.  If seen, you will be disqualified.  Flush motor block with
water.

20.        DRIVER DOOR & FRONT PASSENGER DOOR-  Must be painted white.  Numbers will be painted in black.  
Blank car number plate must be displayed on roof 1' x 2'.

21.        ALL CARS MUST BE AT THE TRACK TWO HOURS PRIOR TO SHOW.  IF NOT, A $5.00 LATE FEE WILL
APPLY.

22.        All cars will be rigidly inspected.  JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL.  

23.        Drivers must be at least 18 years old and have a valid license.  16 or 17 year-olds with a valid license
must have a Minor Release Waiver signed by a legal guardian.  All drivers must fill out an entry form and sign a
release waiver.

24.        Derby will consist of Heats and a Feature.  Number of cars in each heat may vary.  Prizes to Heat winners
and Feature winners based on Total Purse entries.  All heat winners transferring to Feature MUST run full size
car (No compacts, trucks, or mini-vans).

25.        ALL DRUGS AND ALCOHOL ARE PROHIBITED.

26.        Any contestant not obeying the rules and regulations will be disqualified.

27.        All contestants will have one minute to restart and/or make contact with a live car.  NO TRAPPING WILL
BE ALLOWED.  All drivers must stay in their cars while on the track.  NO SMOKING IN CAR OR ON TRACK.

28.        We will stop the event for fire, accident, or safety equipment not being used properly.

29.        Safety belts, eye protection, and DOT helmets are required.  Long sleeve shirts and pants must be worn
- shorts are not acceptable.

30.        Car Registration entry fee admits one car and driver only.  There is no limit to the number of cars you
enter, but each car pays the same entry fee.  Entry fees are NON-refundable.

31.        Any cars not removed by 6:00 AM the next day are property of promoter or fair.

32.        JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL - WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY AND ALL ENTRIES.  Rules are

      TOTAL DESTRUCTION DEMO PRODUCTIONS, LLC
                      2010 YOUTH DERBY RULES

1.        Must be ages 12 – 16 with parent or legal guardian present to sign Minor Release Waiver.  All drivers and
pit crews must fill out an entry form and sign a release waiver.

2.        Cars must remain stock unless specified.  Derby is open to 4 or 6 cylinder front wheel drives with
wheelbase not to exceed 109”.

3.        INTERIOR: Must be removed completely – includes carpet, both rear seat cushions, headliner,      door
panels (may keep driver door panel).  Dash optional – AIR BAG MUST BE REMOVED.  Key start recommended.

4.        WINDOWS: All glass (including windshield) must be removed.  2 steel bars must be mounted from the fire
wall to roof.  Side window net is allowed.

5.        BODY:  Must be stripped of all glass, chrome, trim, side mirrors, plastic and fiberglass panels.  Rubber
body mounts may be removed, but must be replaced with flat washers.  No hood latches.

6.        DRIVER COMPARTMENT: One cross bar is allowed behind the seat running door to door.  This is to keep

DOOR MUST BE WELL PADDED.  Blank car number plated must be displayed on roof.  Safety plate must be
added to both doors.

8.        BUMPERS: May be welded or chained.  Must be bolted on at the factory location.

9.        TIRES: Must remain stock size.  Wheel weights must be removed.

10.        BATTERY: May be left under the hood or moved to passenger side floor (must be held down by 2 straps
and covered with a rubber mat).

shirts and pants must be worn - shorts are not acceptable.

25.        THIS CLASS IS TO LET KIDS LEARN HOW TO STRIP CARS OUT, BUILD A CAR TO THE RULES, AND BE
A GOOD SPORT WHEN THEY WIN OR LOSE.


                             TRUCK AND MINI-VAN RULES

TRUCKS MUST REMAIN STOCK UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.  IF IT IS NOT IN THE RULES, IT DOES NOT MEAN
YOU CAN DO IT.
1.        Derby is open to ½ ton, ¾ ton, or one ton trucks only (NO 4x4’s- four wheel drive chassis must have one drive
shaft removed).   
2.        BODY- All vehicles must be stripped of all glass, chrome, trim, side mirrors, plastic and fiberglass panels.  
Windshields are NOT acceptable.  Rubber body mounts may be removed, but must be replaced with flat washers.  No
hood latches.   ** 2 STEEL BARS MUST BE MOUNTED FROM THE FIRE WALL TO ROOF**.
3.        GAS TANKS- Must be in center of bed near cab, securely fastened down and covered with metal shield.
4.        FRAME- No alterations or reinforcements to frame.  Box can be welded to cab 3” every 10”.  Bent or rusty frame
may be patched.  Return guard acceptable if in front of core support.
